Set near the wonderful Home of Winnie the Pooh sometimes known as ‘The Enchanted Forest’, Beechcroft Retreats is a ‘Chocolate Box’ Cottage situated in Upper Hartfield, East Sussex. The property is set in over 2.5 acres.

Locally Ashdown Forest originally a deer hunting forest in Norman times, is now one of the largest free public access space in the South East. It is a great place for walking and enjoying spectacular views over the Sussex countryside and is known the world over as the ‘home’ of Winnie-the-Pooh.

The Forest is at the heart of the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and has national and international protection because of its wildlife. Nearly two thirds of its 6500 acres (2500 hectares) are heathland, amounting to 2.5% of the UK’s extent of this rare habitat.

Pooh Bridge located in the One Hundred Acre woods in the stories by AA Milne of Christopher Robin and Winnie the Pooh .

Accessible by car from London via the A23 & A22, or by train we are about 6 miles away from East Grinstead Station, just a short taxi ride away. A local Cab Company is Forest Cars on 01342 776699 or 822228.

Beechcroft can house up to 12 guests in twin/double rooms, 2 singles are available on a first come first serve basis. Well decorated the facilities are modern and include the new Yoga Studio and Treatment rooms.

All food prepared for visitors is of a high standard using non-toxic titanium cook wear, not to mention :Merlee:’s recipes and knowledge on nutrition is legendary, incorporated since 2015 is the use of edible essential oils which carry great therapeutic value.
