Chemicals in Cosmetics

Mar 6, 2016

Some of the ingredients in cosmetics just aren’t very pretty. Worse than that, some of the chemicals can be downright dangerous.

Coal tar dyes, such as p-phenylenediamine, are found in most hair dyes, and can be a cause of cancer. They’re also contaminated with metals that are toxic and can harm your brain. Siloxanes are used in moisturisers as an agent to soften skin but can cause reproductive problems. PEG compounds used in bases for cream-based cosmetics have been linked to cancer too.

It is possible though to obtain cosmetic and other beauty products that are more natural and have none of those harmful chemicals. They are more expensive than the products with chemicals in, but it’s a small price to pay for the peace of mind that they provide.

Beechcroft Retreats offers a range of natural skin care and botanical products at http://www.beechcroftretreats.myarbonne.co.uk which are natural and competitively priced.
